Presidential Portrait of Henry Wendell Foster Jr., M.D., to be Unveiled at Fall Convocation, October 14

Acting President during the 1993-1994 academic year, Dr. Foster will be honored with a new portrait as a part of the 138th Fall Convocation ceremonies.

The portrait unveiling, celebrating the presidency of Henry Wendell Foster Jr., M.D., who served as Acting President of Meharry Medical College for the 1993-1994 academic year, will be held at the end of Meharry Medical College's 138th Convocation.

Dr. Foster is also Professor Emeritus of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and former Dean of the School of Medicine. He has dedicated his entire professional life fighting for the rights of health care for disadvantaged populations and improving the quality of life for women and children.


He maintains the unyielding belief that "health care is not a privilege, it's a right."
