Institutional Research

The Office of Institutional Research helps the institutional community work effectively by collecting, analyzing, and distributing quality and timely information; this information assists the administrators and faculty members in planning, developing, and evaluating educational programs and services. We also support the college's strategic planning and accreditation effort and contribute to the fulfillment of the college mission.

Other responsibilities and accomplishments include:

  • Implementation of a centralized reporting system
  • Updating the Fact Book annually to accommodate frequently asked questions regarding Meharry's students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • Implementation of the Student/Alumni Tracking System to enhance the school's ability to analyze student performances for academic advisement and to document alumni specialties and practicing locations.
  • Implementation of the Decision Support System, which allows school deans easy access to student learning outcome and faculty trend data.
  • Annual completion of more than 50 course/clerkship/seminar evaluations, questionnaire surveys, and analytical studies that assist the college in identifying strengths and weaknesses of programs and services.
  • Completion of approximately 40 user requests for information to meet the needs of external agencies (IPEDS, Title III, COE and TICUA) and senior managers of the College.
  • In addition to teaching Biostatistics I and II to students in the School of Graduate Studies, our Director conducts statistical workshops for the Association of Institutional Research (AIR), the Southern Association for Institutional Research (SAIR), and the Tennessee Association of Institutional Research (TENNAIR).
