Scholarships and Loans

The Meharry Alumni Association, Inc., provides a number of scholarships, gifts, and financial assistance, through generous donations and membership dues. Scholarships are awarded each fall during Convocation. If you are interested in learning about how to establish an endowment, please contact the Office of Alumni Affairs.

Financial gifts can be made to any of the following:

Devail Wyatt Scholarship Fund/Cadaver Ball
The Devail Wyatt Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to first-year medical, dental, and graduate students who exemplify excellence, leadership, and diligence through their academics and their dedication to the community. Established in the memory of Devail Wyatt, a 13-year-old cancer patient whose dream to become a minister and physician was cut short on December 26, 2003, when he passed away at the age of 16. Through the scholarship established in his name, others can realize Wyatt's dream.

Held every year during the third weekend in January, The Cadaver Ball helps support and sustain the Scholarship Fund. First-year students celebrate their completion of gross Anatomy and Meharry celebrates Devail's life as one who lived out Meharry's mission each day.
