Office of External Affairs
The Office of External Affairs serves as the primary point of contact for Government Relations at Meharry. Strategic planning and routine engagements with government officials and agencies is conducted in tandem with Federal Relations and State Relations offices to make sure that the position of the college is held in high regard.
Our mission is to facilitate the use of college resources to support existing partnerships and engage new partners to contribute to the educational, social, and economic progress of the community, region, and state. Our office is responsible for facilitating, coordinating, and advancing college-wide community engagement. The unit contributes to and supports the diverse outreach initiatives of the college.
We strive to build effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external constituents to advance the mutual needs of the community and the College. The office is responsible for developing a process to evaluate the effectiveness of existing and new college/community partnerships.
