Application Process

Action cannot be taken until the following have been received:

  1. Application for Admission to the School of Graduate Studies and Research.
  2. Statement of Purpose: This statement is part of the application and should discuss the applicant’s preparation for graduate school and reasons for pursuing a graduate degree.
  3. Official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work.
  4. Official scores from the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
  5. In addition to the GRE, the TOEFL is required for International Students.
  6. Two letters of recommendation from faculty or persons who are qualified to certify as to the applicant’s abilities or character and have the references mailed to the address below.
  7. Non-refundable application fee of $45.00, money order or cashier's check, payable to Meharry Medical College.
  8. The College does not waive the application fee; however, the applicant can request a fee waiver by sending an email to the Dean of the Graduate School. The application fee is not credited toward tuition if the applicant is accepted. Make the fee waiver request to:
