  • Application Deadline: December 15th

  • Letters of Recommendation: Candidates may apply between June 1 and December 15th.

Initial applications are accepted only through the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS).  Information and application materials are available at www.aamc.org <http://www.aamc.org/> .

Beginning with the current application cycle for the entering class of 2009, Meharry applicants should send ALL letters of recommendation directly to AMCAS which will forward the letters to our office electronically.  AMCAS will accept letters from users of VirtualEvals, Interfolio, and via the US Postal System. The address to which the letters should be mailed will appear on the AMCAS Letter Request Form. For more information on this process, please visit AMCAS Letters FAQ.

Those applicants who attend, or who have recently graduated from, an undergraduate institution or a post baccalaureate premedical program which offers a Health Processions Advisor or Advisory Committee should submit a letter from this person or committee; this letter should be sent to AMCAS as described above. If no such institutional letter is available, the applicant should explain this on the Meharry Medical College supplemental application and substitute a minimum of three individual letters, including two from Science professors. These letters should be sent to AMCAS as described above.

  • Secondary Application: Upon receipt of the application from the AMCAS, it is reviewed and a link to the on-line supplemental application is sent to all eligible applicants.  The secondary application allows the applicant to further describe their activities which are related to the institutional mission. At the time of completing the application on-line, a non-refundable $60 processing fee will be assessed by College Net.  Please do not send a separate payment to Meharry. Waivers are granted only after the receipt of a copy of the AMCAS Fee Waiver documentation.
