Mission
The Meharry Medical College Library supports patient care, research and learning by providing access to current and relevant information resources in a state-of-the-art facility that effectively integrates technology with highly skilled staff to promote best practices. Equipped with a strong digital library designed to allow remote access to biomedical information at the place and time of need, the information center's electronic classrooms, distance learning facilities, biomolecular computing center, and medical informatics lab provide an environment that encourages and facilitates interactive teaching/learning and intellectual exchange. The Special Collections area emphasizes preserving and archiving scholarly works on health and health topics authored by African-American and other underrepresented minority scholars. The Special Collections area also includes materials related to racial and ethnic minority health and health disparities.
