| Treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS involves interactions among biological, behavioral and cultural variables. Researchers find themselves mired in complex scientific, regulatory and political conflicts which may be complicated further by the involvement of highly stigmatized populations. The goal of this conference is to confront such complexities with current data and discussion among colleagues and community.
Target Audience: behavioral and clinical researchers, IRB members and staff, research administrators, physicians, nurses and clinicians involved in research and treatment, care providers of community outreach health services, staff and volunteers of community- and faith-based organizations, patient and human subjects advocates, bioethicists
Outstanding speakers and moderators including recognized researchers in the areas of both biologic and behavioral prevention of substance abuse and HIV will participate in interactive discussions. In addition, poster presentations are invited.
