Teaches and coordinates the Medicine and Society course for freshmen medical students and teaches physiology, epidemiology and biostatistics. Her interests include health policy, conflicts of interest in medicine and research and the ethics of animal experimentation.

Teaches medical and research ethics across the medical curriculum and is coordinator of the Clinical Elective. Her areas of interest include medical education, disparities in American health, children in medical research, HIV/AIDS, and the prevention of harms due to alcohol and drug misuse. She serves on Nashville General Hospital’s Ethics Committee and Meharry’s Institutional Review Board.
