Paul Juarez, Ph.D.
Professor and Vice Chair of Academic Affairs, Director of Community-Based Research and Training

Paul Juarez, PhD, is Professor and Vice Chair of Academic Affairs. He is also Director of the Division of Community-Based Research and Training.

Dr. Juarez joined the faculty at Meharry Medical College in August 2004. He has extensive experience in academic family medicine, including leadership positions in community medicine, research, and health information technology. His previous experience includes serving as Director of Research and Evaluation at the White Memorial Medical Center in East Los Angeles and director of Research and Telehealth for the Department of Family Medicine at Charles R. Drew University.

Dr. Juarez has extensive experience as Principal Investigator/Project Director on many research, training, and service grants and has taught distance education courses at CA State University, Long Beach in the Master of Social Work program. In addition, he has established resident research programs in the Family Medicine departments at both Drew and White Memorial.

Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs

Mohamad Sidani, M.D., M.S. is Associate Professor, Medical Director, and Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Dr. Sidani is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Geriatric Medicine and holds a Master of Clinical Research Design and Biostatistics. He has an extensive history of program directorship and leadership positions prior to this post. His clinical, research, and scholarly activity have earned him several awards and honors, along with key positions within several current grant supported programs.
