Roger Zoorob MD, MPH, FAAFP, professor and Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Meharry Medical College and Professor and Director of Family Medicine at Vanderbilt University will lead the Department of Family & Community Medicine Hospitalist Physician Group. This group will manage adult patients, newborns, and pregnant women presenting for delivery. This group consists of six full-time family physicians, who are board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.
Family Medicine is a field that specializes in total care of family medical problems. Our physicians manage a variety of hospitalized patients and possess the trainin, expertise and technology to take care of the patients transferred as well. The physicians have faculty appointments at the Department of Family and Commuinty Medicine at Meharry. We have a residency training program of 18 residents training to be family doctors.
Physicians include: Millard Collins MD, Kevin Dennis MD, Victoria Smith, Ila Patel MD, Dan Kalb MD, and Roger Zoorob, MD, MPH. Upon discharge from the hospital, they will see patients for follow-up and out patient care at 2 clinics in Nashville; the Medical Arts Center at 1919 Charlotte Street and the Meharry Family Medicine Center at 1005 DB Todd Blvd.
The also see Patients at madison Famil Medicine and Obstetrics, located at Madison Square shopping Center on Galatin Road.
These 3 Clinics are open daily Monday through Friday and handle all primary care needs and hospital follow-up. Patients will be seen with or without appointment to accommodate needs and preferences.
