Our mission is to provide exemplary comprehensive patient care, commesurate with the heritage and mission of Meharry Medical College, and to offer the highest quality educational experiences to our medical students and Family Medicine residents, with strong focus on health care diparities.

This department is committed to a broad range of training experiences that provide the ability to function effectively in arural or urban underserved setting. Our physicians, faculty and residents have the responsibility to maintain medical, educational, and administrative excellence in all f their activities , and are encouraged to develop leadership activities, which involve scholarship, presentation, and publication.
