Research and Scholarships
The Department of Family and Community Medicine Research focuses on primary care issues, examining the inter-relationships between individual, family, community, and social systems. It also targets condtions and diseases commonly seen in primary care settings and areas of health disparities that disproportionately affect the medically underserved population. Areas of interest of the faculty inclue chronic disease, namely Cardiometabolic Syndrome, intentional and unintentional injury, cancer prevention and control, and immunization practices.
