Family Medical Interest Group
The FMIG is a student-operated organization that was developed to not only promote the specialty, but to assist students in many aspects of their early medical school development. Initially designed as an advocacy medium, the group has monthly meetings covering various topics, from careers within the specialty of family medicine, to open discussion forums on medical student relevant issues. Additionally, the group sponsors skills workshop sessions as well as participation in multiple community service endeavors. While primarily student-operated, the group has full access to faculty advisors within the department. The overall design is accommodating to students with interest in any specialty. Anyone can join!
