Learning Objectives:

  • Residents will understand the availability, and utility of evidence-based high tech imaging criteria that can guide clinical diagnostic decision-making on a daily basis.
  • Residents will gain an initial understanding of the radiation safety issues attendant to certain high tech imaging procedures and steps that can be taken to limit this exposure for patients.
  • The residents will have an opportunity to explore the application of evidence-based imaging criteria to selected clinical scenarios, and the role of assessing pre-test probability of disease in choosing appropriate imaging studies.
