The Department of Neurology at Meharry Medical College was founded in 2003 to develop Meharry’s clinical neurosciences to complement the basic neuroscience activities in the School of Medicine. Our goal is to prepare our medical students and residents to meet the challenge of recognizing, diagnosing and managing neurologic diseases.

Our faculty demonstrate clinical and research expertise in health disparities in epilepsy, aging, dementia, and stroke. The Meharry Consortium Geriatric Education Center (Center on Aging) has joined with the Department of Neurology to provide education and training seminars available to the academic, professional, and lay communities.
