 The Curriculum
The curriculum of Meharry's Internal Medicine Residency Program is an objective-driven, written curriculum designed to provide a basic core of information and impart principles of diagnosis and management for all subspecialty areas in patient care which include hospitalized patients, ambulatory clinics, and the emergency room.
Through organized components, the curriculum provides:

Weekly conferences including a core seminar series, Morning Report, Grand Rounds, Morbidity & Mortality Conference, Clinical Pathologic Conference, and Journal Club;
-
Monthly in-patient rotations on general medicine wards and special care units (ICU/CCU);
-
Ambulatory care experiences, including block rotations and a weekly one-half day clinic which lasts for the duration of the three (3) years of the program; and,
-
Subspecialty electives during the second and third years of training.
