Dr. Henry W. Foster, Jr., is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Meharry Medical College, Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and immediate past Chair of the U.S. Committee for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
From 1996-2001, he served as Senior Advisor to President Clinton on Teen Pregnancy Reduction and Youth Issues. From 1973-1990, he served as Professor and Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN at Meharry Medical College.
From 1990-1993, he was Dean of the School of Medicine and, beginning in 1993, he served for one year as acting President of the university. Dr. Foster is a recognized national leader in medicine, family planning, and education and has served on the boards of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and The Alan Guttmacher Institute. |
