Research Interests / Specialty

Dr. White is currently a 3rd year scholar in Meharry's Clinical Research Education and Career Development Program. He also received a Pfizer Fellowship award in Health Literacy & Clear Health Communication in 2008 and State-level funding from the TN Department of Health's Project Diabetes in 2007 and 2008.  His research interests include the impact that Health Literacy and Numeracy have on Diabetes care among adult Latino patients as well as the prevention of childhood obesity through improving patient-provider communication about nutrition and physical activity.
