| Research Interests |
Dr. DeRiemer’s primary academic role involves the teaching of medical and dental students in Human Development (Embryology; Growth Development and Aging); Cultural Competence and Medicine and Society; Cell Biology and Histology; and Membrane Physiology. Dr. DeRiemer’s expertise in membrane physiology and cell biology derives from her former studies of modulation of ion channel function in neuroplasticity, disease and development of excitable cells and regulation of synaptic transmission.
Dr. DeRiemer also is involved in the application of information technology in the classroom and beyond, and in Utilization of community resources to enhance communication and cultural competence. |
