The
primary responsibility of Property Management
is to enforce and comply with policies, standards
and guidelines for the effective management of
supply inventories, for the utilization, disposition
and accountability of equipment owned by and in
the custody of Meharry Medical College and for
purchasing analysis. Identification tags are assigned
and affixed for purposes of accountability. Physical
inventories are scheduled and implemented to verify
the location of equipment and respective records
and updated to agree with the physical count.
A storage room is maintained for unassigned property
to maximize the utilization of surplus property.
Any property deemed worthless and useless will
be scrapped.
Property
Management is responsible for the effective management
of the equipment inventory, for records management
and for the reutilization and disposition of excess
property, real or personal except for land. The
Policy for Equipment Inventory covers the acquisition,
disposition, loss, transfer and physical inventory
of property.
