AAMC Video Entry Takes Second Place
Congratulations to student-filmmakers of Meharry Medical College whose video, "Light-years
Beyond Flexner: Academic Medicine in 2033," recently
placed second in a contest sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). Winners were announced on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Learn • Serve • Lead: The AAMC 2013 Annual Meeting held in Philadelphia. The winning video was displayed throughout the annual meeting in the AAMC pavilion at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and is currently displayed on the AAMC website.
Six outstanding medical students worked collaboratively to produce the award winning video. They are:

- Arie Pearce Francis MS III
- Julian Hinson MS III
- Andrew Marshall MS III
- Christopher Salib MS II
A letter from John E. Prescott, M.D., Chief Academic Officer of the AAMC, praised the students and the value of working together as a team. "The contest received excellent submissions and your team's stood out in depicting transformation and innovation in academic medicine while meeting all criteria," said Prescott. "We are grateful for your contribution to this contest, applaud you and your team for your effort, and we're thrilled to share your winning video with the academic medicine community."
