PRS (Clickers)

Interwrite Personal Response System (PRS) is the audience response system used at Meharry Medical College. PRS clickers provide a way to implement interactivity in the classroom and receive instant feedback. When instructors ask students questions, students can respond with their clickers. In addition, instructors can use clickers to take attendance, give surveys, quizzes, and more. The radio frequency (RF) receivers can handle hundreds of students responding at once.

Using PRS in your course not only increase class participation but gives you instant feedback on students’ understanding of what is being taught in the class before an exam is given.

When Interwrite PRS is installed on your computer, a PRS toolbar in PowerPoint is created. This makes it easier to turn your PowerPoint slides into PRS questions.

All first year medical and dental students are REQUIRED to purchase clickers at the beginning of the semester. These clickers may be used until third year at no additional costs. However, if clickers are lost, students are responsible for purchasing a new clicker.

Clickers are distributed during orientation but may be picked-up by coming to the Academic Computing office.

If you are interested in integrating PRS into your course, please contact us for training and installation of the PRS software.
