Respondus LockDown Browser™ is a customized browser that increases the security of online testing in the Blackboard Learning System. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser to access an assessment, they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. Students are locked into an assessment until it is submitted for grading. More information can be found at

Faculty can use this browser to provide additional security to online assessments. If you know in advance that you will use Blackboard to administer your quizzes and/or exams in Respondus Lockdown Browser, please let your students know that they must have this installed on their tablet or laptop.
