Meharry Medical College's One Hundred Thirty-Ninth Convocation

Meharry Medical College held its One Hundred Thirty-Ninth Convocation, Monday, October 13, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the ballroom of The Cal Turner Family Center for Student Education. This is the first event held in the newest building on campus. Below is the list of honorary degree recipients.

André L. Churchwell, M.D., keynote speaker and honorary degree recipient, advised students to learn new models of health care and challenge themselves daily. He then asked students to seek support from mentors and continue their personal journeys with self-improvement. "The most important aspect that will keep you honest is unadorned humility,” said Churchwell. “Confront uncertainly and ignorance with vivacious intent."
