Purpose

To establish proper guidelines for managing employee personnel information.

Policy Statement

It is the policy of the Company to maintain personnel records for applicants, employees, and past employees in order to document employment related decisions, evaluate and assess policies, and comply with government record keeping and reporting requirements. Employee files are the property of, and will be maintained by, Meharry. Contents of the employee file may not be released to or photocopied by or for the staff member unless required by law or approved by Human Resources and the Department of Legal Affairs.
