Project SAVED! (Strengthening Access via Education and Diligence) is a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention HIV Capacity Building Funded initiative that began in October 2009 as one of the community outreach programs of the Center for AIDS Health Disparities Research at Meharry. The purpose of Project SAVED! is to enlist faith leaders, health providers, students and administration from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other community members dedicated to reducing the disproportionate impact of HIV/AIDS among African Americans and provide them with the skills necessary to create opportunities and new community venues for at –risk African Americans to access HIV prevention education and testing services.
