ABOUT US:

The Health Disparities Research Center Center of Excellence (HDRCOE, formerly known as EXPORT) examines how society, economics, culture, behavior, and biology impact health, with the aim of involving the community in the research process and improving the health and well-being of ethnic and racial minorities.

Meharry Medical College would like to announce that applications for the 3rd Annual M. Alfred Haynes Research Training Institute for Social Equity are now being accepted.   The Institute will be held May 13-24, 2013 in Nashville, TN.  For additional information, click here.

Dr. Wansoo Im, Co-director, Environmental Core has established the Environmental Justice Center for Health Equity. The Center will offer training in community mapping, geo-visualization, and public participatory GIS methods to community organizations to engage, support, and empower them to participate as full partners in pursuit of environmental justice in their communities.  Click here for additional information.

Congratulations to Dr. Darryl Hood, co-director, Environmental Core, for his contributions as Guest Editor, for the Feb. 2013, Supplement: Achieving Health Equity and Environmental Justice (through Clinical Practice, Research and Policy), Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved volume 24(1) which is now available in print.
