Clinical Trials
Would you like to participate in a study?
Advancing our understanding of how the human body works when it is healthy and developing
new, more effective, and selective therapeutic agents require clinical research in
human beings. If you are interested in registering to be contacted when we have a
study relevant to your age, gender, family history, or disease history, please contact
the Participant and Clinical Interactions Resources officexx for more information
and, if you choose, to register as a volunteer. Call 615.327.5725 or email sroberson@mmc.edu.
The PCIR Office can also help you sign up on researchMatch.org, a nationwide registry that matches volunteers with scientific studies. Unfortunately,
many studies end prematurely, simply because there are not enough participants who
qualify and the scientist conducting the study is unable to locate new participants.
Member institutions and their scientists can now look to the registry for a ready
source of potential volunteers.
If you have questions about what it means to be a research participant, please contact
Lauren Solberg, who, as Assistant Vice President for Human Subjects Protection and
Research Integrity, serves as Meharry’s Research Subject Advocate. You can reach her
at 615.327.6237 or lsolberg@mmc.edu.
