CTSA Project Goals

• Define optimal organizational and governance structures within the academic culture of Meharry Medical College, and that also encompass our clinical and community partners. The goal would be to build research capacity and to nurture translational and clinical research training to more effectively address health disparities in the community.
  
  
• Define assets and needs for additional research resources and talent to meet our objectives in translational and clinical research.

• Integrate and enhance existing training programs at Meharry to strengthen our translational and clinical research, and to design and gain approval for a Ph.D. program in Translational and Clinical Investigation.

• Design a plan that incorporates not only on-campus training, research programs, and core facilities, but our community partners in order to facilitate translational health disparities research.

These plans will provide the basis for a subsequent submission of a full CTSA program.
