In August 2004, Captain Karz Miller was hired and assigned to the Department and was appointed Manager of Operations and the College Security Systems.  He began his professional career in Corrections while a student at Delta State University and he participated in an internship with the Mississippi Department of Corrections in Parchman Mississippi.

Captain Miller joined Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) in 1995 and was assigned as Assistant Shift Commander, Shift Supervisor, Chief of Security and Unit Manager.  In 2002 he left CCA but continued his career in corrections when he joined International Security Management Group (ISMG) as a Site Supervisor. 

He is a licensed commissioned Security Officer trained in Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T.), NOVA Stun Shield Instructor and Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT) Instructor/Knife Defense. Captain Miller has a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Sociology from Delta State University.

Captain Miller is a graduate of the Tennessee Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Course, Cleveland State College, class of 2006 (Course that is mandatory for all Tennessee Law Enforcement Officer’s Certification).
