ALMA has 3 main functions:
- Cultural Awareness through social activities: Learn how to Salsa, Eat great food, Latin American Art, Music, and Cooking.
- Outreach/Community Service: Health Fairs, Community Day, Tutoring.
- Education, Language Development and Translation Services: Learn or brush up on your Medical Spanish, Volunteer as a translator, Monthly conversational meetings, Patient Educational Pamphlets in Spanish
Upcoming events Some of our up and coming events include Dr. Rodney's Clinic Visits and Language immersion, Translation services volunteer opportunities, etc.

Mission Statement The American Latino Medical Association is dedicated to improving the quality of healthcare in the Latino community. A.L.M.A. is committed to increasing the percentage of high school and college graduates by providing educational support to Latino students through tutoring and mentoring programs. Correspondingly, A.L.M.A. is devoted to maintaining a support network for Latino medical students to ensure complete retention. In addition, the focus of A.L.M.A. is to actively recruit Latino students into medical schools and provide support during their application process.
