Dear Federal Financial Aid Recipients,
For those of you returning to Meharry Medical College in academic year 2006-07, it is time to apply for federal financial aid.
Students who need federal and state financial aid must complete either a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or a Renewal FAFSA and the Meharry Medical College Financial Aid Application (MAP).
To be eligible for federal and state financial aid, you must:

Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen

Be registered with Selective Service (for males only)

If you are not registered, you may register at https://www4.sss.gov/regver/Register1.asp.

If you registered and want to check your registration, you may check your registration here https://www4.sss.gov/regver/verify.asp.

Have financial need as determined by the central processor using federal regulations

Be attending Meharry Medical College pursuing a degree program at Meharry Medical College

Be maintaining satisfactory academic progress towards your degree program

Not be in default on a federal loan or owe on a federal grant.

To check your federal loan or grant history go to the http://www.nslds.ed.gov/ website and click on Financial Aid Review (you will need your FAFSA PIN to view your history).

Be enrolled in at least 6 hours.
The FAFSA can be completed at the FAFSA on the Web site, http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/.The Meharry Medical College Financial Aid Application (MAP) is in the Office of Student Financial Aid. You will need Meharry's Federal Title IV Code, 003506, for us to receive your FAFSA data. You must re-apply for financial aid each academic year by completing a FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA and the MAP.
