History
The Ewell Neil Dental Society was established as a student organization at Meharry Medical College in the Spring of 1917.  The society was named in the honor of Dr. Ewell Neil, a professor in Prosthetics. It was his inspiration, encouragement, and guidance that aided students in perfecting this society.

Mission Statement
The society's principal objectives are "to bring a close fellowship between the various classes in the dental school and to offer the students an opportunity to stimulate researcch and to sponsor educational programs for the laity to improve dental hygiene.  In addition, the society exists to educate and involve its members in the social, moral and ethical obligations of the profession of dentistry.
