The main function of institutional research is to help the institutional community work effectively. We collect, analyze, and distribute quality and timely information to assist the administrators and faculty members in planning, developing, and evaluating educational programs and services. The Office of Institutional Research supports the college's accreditation effort and contributes to the fulfillment of the college mission.

Accomplishments
Implementing a centralized reporting system, the Office of Institutional Research has become an integral part of the planning and evaluation process of the College.
The Fact Book is updated annually and available to the college community in response to its frequently asked questions on Meharry's students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
The Student/Alumni Tracking System enhances the school's ability to analyze student performances for academic advisement and to document alumni specialties and practicing locations.
The Decision Support System allows school deans easy access to student learning outcome and faculty trend data.
About 50 course/clerkship/seminar evaluations, questionnaire surveys, and analytical studies are annually completed to assist the college in identifying strengths and weaknesses of programs and services.
Approximately 40 user requests for information are annually completed to meet the needs of external agencies (IPEDS, Title III, COE and TICUA) and senior managers of the College.
The Director of Institutional Research annually teaches Biostatistics I and II to students in the School of Graduate Studies, and conducts statistical workshops for the Association of Institutional Research (AIR) and the Southern Association for Institutional Research (SAIR).
